I've always been a girl who has enjoyed family traditions.
I use to really love the holidays when I was younger. I'd have fun going to my Grandpa and Grandma Lentner's farm on Christmas Eve, eating popcorn balls, playing cards until what seemed to be midnight and then leaving and thinking I saw Rudolph's nose blinking in the sky. (Which I later found out was a radio tower. Hahahaha.)
I'd have fun waking up early on Christmas morning to a mountain of presents, cookies that had been nibbled on and a glass of milk completely empty and Santa and Rudolph's footprints in the snow outside our door.
I'd have fun going to my Grandpa and Grandma Zweber's house on Christmas Day for great food and games. We were always amazed at how we could fit so many of us in their tiny house. (Come to think of it...it was a big house.)
I miss those traditions...
Now, that I'm all grown up and married, there are more family traditions to be a part of and more chaos of running to five different families Christmas's.
I realize that the older I get and the more 'little' additions to the family the more crazy I get trying to get to every place. But, I've also grown to realize that all I want for Christmas is more time with my two families. More time together of sitting around and enjoying each others company without having to rush off. More time together...even outside of the chaotic 'holiday season.'
Many things will be different this year and for the years to come. I guess we will be starting new family traditions. I just sometimes wish I could go back...when I enjoyed family traditions more as a kid.

Family traditions are a way for always reminding us of great times and special places. The beauty of remembering the past and the present is taking these memories, embracing and continuing what your Grandparents have shown us all. This gift creating memories allows us all to pass down from one generation to the next stories that can be repeated as many times as your heart can beat. Your Dad and I enjoyed all those times watching you beautiful girls embrace and enjoy Christmas.I know you and your sisters will continue do the same for years to come.I see it every day in you three ladies.
I love you with all my heart Mom:)
