Since we've gotten Summit, I've registered with the petplace.com. It's great! They send me an email every other day with some helpful tips on raising your dog. Here's what quote came to me today...
"Sometimes dogs come into our lives unexpectedly and even when we are sure that it just isn't possible to have a dog in the house or there isn't room for one more. So often there is plenty room once they arrive. The thing is that dogs bring so much into our homes that once they are there we can hardly manage what life was like before them. In fact, sometimes they arrive right at the moment we need them."
I am so lucky that we have Summit. She has brought so much happiness into my life.
Thanks Corey, this was a GOOD DECISION!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Irish American Fun Facts:
There are 3.8 million people in Ireland but when Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, it seems that the whole world turns Irish.
While New York City has the largest number of Irish residents - Boston tops the list of cities with the largest percentage of the population.
"May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand. "

Although not an official holiday in the United States, St. Patrick's Day has a long history of being celebrated with parades and general goodwill toward all things Irish, or at least Irish-American.While New York City has the largest number of Irish residents - Boston tops the list of cities with the largest percentage of the population.

Quote of the Day
I was looking through a catalog today and found this quote...
"When I stand before God at the end of my life I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything you gave me."
I LOVE IT! It's going on my list of signs to make.

Summit's First "Puppy" Friend
Summit and her friend Zoey
Mmmmm...dental chews.
Summit has had many visitors this weekend and is spoiled with lots of toys. She has done really well with her potty training outside. Last night was her first "play date" with her new friend Zoey.
Thanks Mikey B, Aimee and Zoey for letting me come over and play.
Love, Summit

Soon-to-be Dog Owners!
Many of you may now know that Corey and I have been looking at getting a dog.
Well...we found one!
Ironically, Corey works with a guy who just bread his dog. A litter of 7 Chocolate Labs!! On Tuesday, Zack (the dog breeder) brought the two available females to our house for us to take a look. One of the females was the "runt" of the litter. Very cute and well behaved. The other was cute, of course, and a little active. They had just woke up from a nap and a were a little confused about where they were. We agreed to meet with him on Saturday to view the litter, the parents, and get a better look at the two females personalities.
On Saturday we had over an hour of fun with a few of the chocolate lab puppies. We found out that the "runt" of the litter was already taken so we focused our attention on the last female available. She is sooooo cute and very playful. We both fell in love with her. She's a beautiful dark chocolate color. The puppies get their 8 week shots in a few days and they'll be ready to take home on Friday, March 9th. We decided that we'd love to have one and will pick her up this coming Friday!!
Her name...Summit. :)
Stay tuned for some cute pictures...

Wait for it...
Boy, watching the news channels this morning and waiting to see if my school is closed due to the bad weather can be really intense! (It takes me back to when I was a kid...nose to the screen waiting to see the cancellation.)
I was up bright and early this morning waiting to see if I needed to actually "get up" and get ready for a school day. I work in two different school districts...Shakopee in the morning and Prior Lake in the afternoon.
As the box at the bottom of the t.v. screen finally got to "P", I was excited to see that Prior Lake was CLOSED! Yeah!!! Snow day for me this afternoon! I waited for "the box" to reach the letter "S" when I notice that there was no posting for Shakopee...damn. So I changed the channel and changed the channel to find no postings for Shakopee at all. What the hell! All of the surrounding districts were closed.
I called my director and we talked about what to do. In the contract that the parents sign for the school it states that if the public schools in the same district are closed due to severe weather then our private school is closed. Well...what to do about Shakopee. I hung up the phone and continued to get ready for the day. My morning hours are from 8 - 12. The children arrive at 8:30 and leave at 11:30. I needed to leave my house in Prior Lake by 7:00 to make sure that I give myself enough time for the messy commute. Normally this would only be a fifteen minute drive.
My phone rang around 6:30 and my director decided to cancel school in Shakopee. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
I spent the next hour changing back into my pajamas and calling all of my families and telling them that school is CANCELLED for today.
I wonder what tomorrow will be like? Another snow day for me??
Well, it's now only 7:40 and I'm wide awake! I tried to go back to sleep...but Corey is snoring so loud. Corey has today off too! A snow day together!!
Hmmmmm...what to do now...
