Wait for it...

Boy, watching the news channels this morning and waiting to see if my school is closed due to the bad weather can be really intense! (It takes me back to when I was a kid...nose to the screen waiting to see the cancellation.)

I was up bright and early this morning waiting to see if I needed to actually "get up" and get ready for a school day. I work in two different school districts...Shakopee in the morning and Prior Lake in the afternoon.

As the box at the bottom of the t.v. screen finally got to "P", I was excited to see that Prior Lake was CLOSED! Yeah!!! Snow day for me this afternoon! I waited for "the box" to reach the letter "S" when I notice that there was no posting for Shakopee...damn. So I changed the channel and changed the channel to find no postings for Shakopee at all. What the hell! All of the surrounding districts were closed.

I called my director and we talked about what to do. In the contract that the parents sign for the school it states that if the public schools in the same district are closed due to severe weather then our private school is closed. Well...what to do about Shakopee. I hung up the phone and continued to get ready for the day. My morning hours are from 8 - 12. The children arrive at 8:30 and leave at 11:30. I needed to leave my house in Prior Lake by 7:00 to make sure that I give myself enough time for the messy commute. Normally this would only be a fifteen minute drive.

My phone rang around 6:30 and my director decided to cancel school in Shakopee. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
I spent the next hour changing back into my pajamas and calling all of my families and telling them that school is CANCELLED for today.

I wonder what tomorrow will be like? Another snow day for me??

Well, it's now only 7:40 and I'm wide awake! I tried to go back to sleep...but Corey is snoring so loud. Corey has today off too! A snow day together!!

Hmmmmm...what to do now...
