Todd and Nick,
We REALLY APPRECIATE everything! The kitchen is turning out great! Both of you did a wonderful job. Corey and I are excited for the final product.
Corey and Todd were busy last night tearing out our old kitchen cabinets. Today Nick joined them for the installation of the new cabinets. Luckily I had a Summer Camp Open House at school today so I was able to miss a lot of the hard work. (Plus, not only would I get in the way but so would my mouth. Hahaha.)
We kept two of our old cabinets and put them in the garage. Nick took some for his laundry room, and my coworker took a lot to put in her garage. We had a couple that broke and we are left with a few 'odd' pieces...Corey's planning on taking them to work and putting them in the dumpster.
Our next step is to clear coat all of the cabinets and finish clear coating the doors. We chose to 'finish' the cabinets after installation...that way we don't have cabinets all over the house. The last thing we would need is for Summit to get into them. ;)
I've touched up a few spots on the walls that needed painting. Next week sometime the counter top will be installed (luckily we are able to use our old sink) and then we can order our knobs for the doors and drawers from Todd. Corey is going to add the final touch to the cabinets with some crown moulding. The last step will be a tile back splash. That's pretty much the only thing we will be paying for out of pocket. We did, however, add some new lighting...the Home Depot has some great track lighting sets that are really inexpensive.
We have been taking lots of pictures and Corey plans on sharing them with all of you on his blog soon. We're waiting until completion of the whole project.
We'll keep you in suspense. :)

Can't wait to see the pictures- You are lucky to have married a "handy" man, if there was a way to redo a kitchen with a computer mouse- my husband would doing that to our house too!
