For Mother's Day this year we headed over to the Mall of America for their annual Race for the Cure. It's a great way to spend time with mom, get some exercise, and raise money for breast cancer research.
2005 was our first year for the Mother's Day 3.1 mile walk around MOA and we decided that we'd keep the tradition and do this every year.
It's really an emotional, motivating, and spiritual walk. I'm so happy to do this for others and I'm thankful that my family has not gone through the scare of breast cancer.
We finished the race in one hour and ten minutes. We made pretty good time considering the crowds. We gathered up a bunch of "freebies" after the race and watched as many people were still crossing the finish line one hour after us.
This years attendance was estimated at around 50,000 people!!

I even let Summit wear my "pink" bandanna after the race!

Good for you guys for doing that! I don't think I could handle being someplace where there were that many people. The State Fair freaks me out. Of course, this is for a good cause and that is for fried food, so not really the same. :)

I absolutely love starting out Mothers Day walking with my family. Just think next year we can help push a baby stroller.
Love you guys...........Mom L.
